The Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Spectator Safety provides a nationally recognized qualification that allows stewards to work any type of live event. This qualification meets the minimum requirements for stewards’ competence as detailed in the Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds(Green Guide). The qualification provides a work-based assessment of the knowledge and competence of a steward.
The primary target group for the Level 3 NVQ Certificate in Spectator Safety is experienced stewards who supervise and manage steward teams to ensure spectators have a safe and enjoyable experience at the event. This qualification satisfies the qualification requirements for people working, in a supervisory capacity, in licensed venues as in detailed in the Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds (Green Guide). The qualification provides a work-based assessment of the knowledge and competence of a supervisor.
This qualification is for those people working in, or aspiring to work in, senior roles within spectator safety. The Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Spectator Safety Management (QCF) will allow learners to gain a nationally regulated qualification in the area of spectator safety management.
The HABC Level 2 Award in Front of Stage Pit Barrier Operations is a National Award written and endorsed by HABC. This qualification is outside of the QCF however it could be used as prior knowledge to enrol onto a QCF qualification in the future or to demonstrate Continuous Professional Development within the Spectator Safety industry. This qualification is aimed at those learners working within the live events industry positioned at the front of stage pit barrier.
This accredited qualification is a requirement for those wishing to work as a CCTV Operative. It provides the necessary skills and knowledge to apply for an SIA licence. Subjects covered include roles and responsibilities of CCTV operators, codes of practice, operational procedures and guidelines, CCTV equipment and operation and surveillance techniques.
This accredited qualification is an industry requirement for those wishing to work as a Door Supervisor. It provides the necessary skills and knowledge to apply for an SIA licence and work as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry. Subjects covered include behavioural standards, legislation relevant to the role, search procedures, powers of arrest, recording incidents and crime preservation, reducing risk, conflict management and communicating effectively.
From 4 February 2013, all Door Supervisors with a pre-QCF qualification (for example the National Certificate for Door Supervision) wishing to renew their SIA licence will be required to pass an ‘Upskilling Door Supervisors’ award.
This accredited qualification is ideal for those who wish work as a Close Protection Operative within the Private Security Industry and apply for an SIA Licence in this field. It has been developed to meet the requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and provides the learner with the necessary knowledge and understanding of the Private Security Industry.
